RE: Under age drinking?

Hate to be redundant but it all revolves around them 'driving' drunk. Be a bartender for a day and you'd all understand better the circumstances around this 'lowering' the age issue. I was fired for not serving an underage daughter who sat down next to her parents and the parents wanted me to serve her a drink. In wisconsin an underage person CAN drink if with their parents. And underage persons can be in a bar. I KNEW she drove there because I saw her pull up to the bar.So I refused to serve her. I was fired the next day. 2 things: I wasn't about to be responsible for seeing her on the news the next day her car smashed into a car full of a family out for the weekend, AND in Wisconsin.....if I am the last bartender to serve you a drink and you crash and die or kill someone-- 'I am held responsible and can be sued. Drunk driving laws and servers involved are a very hot topic. It's a catch 22 you come into my bar drunk, I have to make a decision not to serve you to keep my license and keep me from being sued or serve you and keep my job.:R:R I've seen WAY too many innocent families killed on the highway from a drunk punk that was behind the wheel. While I can see your point of view I have to ask, how many people of leagal age did you serve that drove themselfs to the bar? Is an 18 year old girl that has one drink with mom and dad more of a risk to get in a crash then Otis the drunk on his 10th MD-20/20 getting in his vehicle? Carl

RE: Monaco - Online Help changed overnight!

I talked with the customer service people when I was at the Monaco Rally back in Sep about this problem. I had sent an email about ride height specs and never got a reply after two weeks, re-sent and hadn't had a reply when I had left for the rally, about 1 week. CS said with the closures and moving people around things were back logged. The tech workload from Indiana was now being handled by the same person that was doing the Oregon calls. So basically one person now doing the job that was being done by two. I can understand where they are coming from in trying to stay afloat these days. It may take them awhile to get back to "normal". RE: Pacbrake PRXB upgrade. (Here goes!!)

Brett, in answer to your question, I have contacted Pacbrake and was told to wait for a week or so and they will have the brake for my ISL 400 set up properly for the 60 PSI exhaust back pressure Cummins specs call for. The prior production model was set "within Cummins specs" but that proved to be well within specs at approximately 48 PSI back pressure. So hopefully the brake I get from them will test out to 60 PSI. The person who did the field testing received a PRXB that was set to 48 PSI back pressure and called Pacbrake so they sent him one that was adjustable in the field. He set up a testing procedure and set that one to 60 PSI and claimed it was a dramatic improvement over the one set at 48 PSI. The reason the Jacobs exhaust brake is not as effective is the butterfly valve has a 1/2" hole in it to prevent excessive back pressure buildup thus reducing the overall braking effect. I'm told some owners have put a 1/2" bolt with a self locking nut in the butterfly to increase back pressure but I'd never consider doing that with mine. My local Cummins shop quoted me $1800 to install the Cummins "C" Brake 2 stage engine compression brake and controls. But this mod increases the overall engine height by a little over 4 inches as a spacer has to be installed under the existing valve cover. But I only have about two and a half inches and I don't want to cut out part of the rear closet floor or I would go for it. Big Sky - Where did you get your information? I just installed mine last week on an 07 ISL. I called PacBrake today and the tech said all ISL brakes were set to 60 PSI and didn't know about this 48 PSI setting. Mine works well but 12 more PSI would be better. Tks Carl

RE: Riding Locations near WRR

Man, there are so many riding trails in that area I wouldn't know where to begin. Have you run down to the old mining sites? About 15 miles from WRR. There are also some mine shafts to explore in that area. Take a good light as they get mighty dark a few hundred yards in there. I usually just pick a trail and follow it till it runs out. It's a fun place to ride. Carl

RE: Flying J changes cash discount rules again

There is no FJ in Reno. They tried to put one in but got shot down from the locals. "Don't want no smelly truck stop in my backyard!". If I get a FJ CC can I use it at Loves and get the cash price?? :)

RE: NASCAR Sprint Cup at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

I don't see why they would stop a race for rain. If they were true race car drivers they would be able to handle a little water on the track.

RE: Subway shoots themselves in the foot...again

It's simple! If you don't like the rules..don't play. Why must it be ruined for the rest that want to play. What if it said only people with blue cars could play? Would everyone with a different color car be crying. Was it a slap in the face because home schoolers couldn't play? No! Some people need to get a life. Carl

When Veterans Retire

When Veterans Retire When a good Military Veteran leaves the "job" and retires to a better life, Many are jealous, some are pleased and yet others, who may have already retired, wonder. We wonder if he knows what they are leaving behind, because we already know. We know, for example, that after a lifetime of camaraderie that few experience, it will remain as a longing for those past times. We know that in the Military life there is a fellowship which lasts long after the uniforms are hung up in the back of the closet. We know even if he throws them away, they will be on him with every step and breath that remains in his life. We also know how the very bearing of the man speaks of what he was and in his heart still is. These are the burdens of the job. You will still look at people suspiciously, still see what others do not see or choose to ignore and always will look at the rest of the Military world with a respect for what they do; only grown in a lifetime of knowing. Never think for one moment you are escaping from that life. You are only escaping the "job" and merely being allowed to leave "active" duty. So what I wish for you is that whenever you ease into retirement, in your heart you never forget for one moment that "Blessed are the Peacemakers for they shall be called children of God," and you are still a member of the greatest fraternity the world has ever known. Civilian Friends vs. Veteran Friends CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Get upset if you're too busy to talk to them for a week. VETERAN FRIENDS: Are glad to see you after years, and will happily carry on the same conversation you were having the last time you met. CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Have never seen you cry. VETERAN FRIENDS: Have cried with you. CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Borrow your stuff for a few days then give it back. VETERAN FRIENDS: Keep your stuff so long they forget it's yours. CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Know a few things about you VETERAN FRIENDS: Could write a book with direct quotes from you. CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will leave you behind if that's what the crowd is doing. VETERAN FRIENDS: Will kick the a$$ of the crowd that left you behind. CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Are for a while. VETERAN FRIENDS: Are for life. CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Have shared a few experiences... VETERAN FRIENDS: Have shared a lifetime of experiences no citizen could ever dream of... CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will take your drink away when they think you've had enough. VETERAN FRIENDS: Will look at you stumbling all over the place and say, "You better drink the rest of that before you spill it!!" Then carry you home safely and put you to bed... CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will ignore this. VETERAN FRIENDS: Will forward this. ---------- One source for much of the above content

RE: Aqua hot concerns

One thing that bugged me was the small amount of air coming out of the registers. I replace the 50ish CFM fans with some 85 CFM fans and noticed a great improvement. Noise went up a little but wife didn't even notice it. Carl
